the other day i decided to finally take the plunge and do something new with my hair. i had actually been thinking about making the change for two weeks. silly as it may sound, to go from light reddish brown curly hair to dark brown straight hair and bangs was a big decision and i had to build up the courage to do it. i liked my hair previously and cannot say that i was unhappy with it, but i wanted something edgier. i think there are a lot of other girls out there who can have curly hair and no bangs and look amazing and still look edgy, but i have the problem where i often end up just looking sort of "cute" with more normal haircuts - thus the plunge. i have to say that i am super happy with this new change and that it feels a lot more like the person i am on the inside is now reflected on the outside. i still definitely like cutesy looks as well and need girly days too, but i find myself leaning towards both darker punkier and gothier styles and a laid back artsy sensibility lately. i actually think i only wore a skirt one time last week. chalk it up to the rain and long travel time at the break of dawn for uni, but leggings and an oversized striped shirt just seem like the perfect thing to wear when i will be spending my afternoons in the library doing work. i snapped these photos with my iphone in the dressing room of uo after meeting up with adelinn yesterday. i sort of feel like a gothic alien or an artsy vampire now.

The Balletcats is a t-shirt company that was founded by Jordan Marzuki, an artist from Indonesia. What i love about most of his designs is that they are macabre yet heartwarming at the same time. A difficult feat, to make something cute and grim but somehow he has done it. although most of Marzuki's designs consist of illustrations, my heart was completely taken when i saw this sweatshirt. and somehow, despite lacking illustrations, the sort of dark but happy vibe that runs throughout Marzuki's line is carried out through this half depressing half endearing phrase - it's a bit like "forever alone" but with the company of cats. sadly this sweatshirt is currently sold out, otherwise i would snatch it up right away, but you can check out Marzuki's other products here.

some of my favorite photos that i have currently reposted on my tumblr account. i am loving black sneakers at the moment, especially paired with black leggings. it's a laid back but put together look. these black sneakers from saint laurent paris are just stunning. i am also loving leggings at the moment, especially one with prints, and am completely inspired by what i call a california hip hop style that just doesn't exist in berlin and this girl is doing is just perfectly. hot cocoa in the winter months is a must, especially with whipped cream. loving pale pink flowers against white and black/darnk brown when it comes to interior design. such a feminine but masculine look at the same time. loving this stunning photo of a lion swimming under water. can't get enough of all black outfits - something i tend to wear all the time. it just automatically looks put together and stylish. also loving black tights and shoes in the winter when i am not wearing pants. floor to ceiling windows and minimal design. again, fresh flowers. well organized closet spaces that are also incredibly aesthetic, incredible winter coats, cosy slouchy sweaters in neutral colors, flawless faces and sleek hair. loving light denim with black and white and a hint of gold jewelry. laid back and cool at the same time. oversized coats, skull jewelry, and black cigarettes.
